Every one of our team regularly host and attend courses and submit to, edit and read scientific journals to keep fully up to date with the latest gynaecological advances.In keeping with our belief that first-class care should be easily and rapidly accessible, we aim to see any patient within 48 hours – or sooner if it’s urgent. You can see any of our gynaecologists at any of our three hospitals; the Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital, The Spire Hospital Southampton, and Sarum Road Hospital in Hampshire.
Mr Adam Moors
consultant gynaecologist
Mr Adam Moors is a Senior Consultant Gynaecologist at University Hospital Southampton. His manner is approachable and friendly backed up by extensive knowledge of benign gynaecological conditions. He specialises in laparoscopic surgery, with expertise in the surgical excision of endometriosis and adenomyosis, and leads the BSGE‑accredited Endometriosis Centre in Southampton.
Mr Moors previously served as the national lead for endometriosis at the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, where he played a key role in establishing a national network of centres dedicated to the treatment of severe endometriosis.
He remains actively involved in research, having published widely in medical journals and textbooks, and frequently presents his work at national and international conferences.
In addition to his endometriosis expertise, Mr Moors has extensive experience in reproductive surgery and the management of pelvic pain, offering patients thoughtful, evidence‑based care supported by decades of clinical practice.
Mr Moors is a founder partner of GynaeChoice, a multidisciplinary team of Consultant Gynaecologists practising at the Wessex Nuffield Hospital in Chandlers Ford since 2004.
Mr Ken Metcalf
Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncologist
Mr Ken Metcalf is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and the Royal College of Surgeons. He obtained his MD Research Doctorate with Imperial Cancer Research in relation to studies on Ovarian Cancer. He has undertaken additional postgraduate fellowship programmes in gynaecological surgery in both England and Australia and is an RCOG registered and accredited specialist surgeon for the management of gynaecological cancer.
He is a Consultant Gynaecologist at University Hospital Southampton (UHS). In his clinical role there he undertakes a wide range of complex in-patient surgical surgical services, including laparoscopic and open approaches. He also conducts several out-patient clinics including those dedicated to colposcopy, abnormal perimenopausal bleeding, vulval skin disorders and a combined specialty oncology clinic. He participates in supporting the emergency gynaecology service.
At UHS Mr Metcalf has held a range of senior leadership roles. He has been the Lead Clinician for the Colposcopy and Gynaecological Oncology service and subsequently Lead Clinician for all UHS Cancer Services. He remains a Core Member of the UHS weekly Regional Gynaecology Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting.
Mr Metcalf is a visiting consultant to The Royal County Hospital at Winchester and provides consulting and surgical services to the Medical Specialist Group, Guernsey.

Mr Keith Louden
consultant gynaecologist
Since 1995, Mr Keith Louden has been caring for patients as a Consultant Gynaecologist at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2001 and has built a reputation for his skill in laparoscopic surgery and his compassionate approach to managing complex endometriosis and pelvic pain.
A committed member of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, he spent over ten years on its national council, helping shape clinical guidelines used across the UK.
Mr Louden supports patients with a wide range of menstrual concerns and provides hysteroscopy either in the clinic or under general anaesthetic. Mr Louden has a high level of experience in the management of complex pelvic pain. He is also deeply engaged in menopause care and HRT, frequently speaking to medical professionals and patient groups to improve understanding and confidence in treatment options.
Away from the hospital, he enjoys time with his wife and two grown up children, and can often be found on the tennis court, fishing, or cooking for family and friends.
Mr Ash Monga
consultant urogynaecologist
Mr Ash Monga has been a consultant gynaecologist and sub-specialist urogynaecologist in the University Hospital Southampton trust since 1997. He was the first person to go through the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists sub-speciality training in urogynaecology. This led to his main interest in the area of the pelvic floor, including urinary incontinence, prolapse and faecal incontinence. He is a senior NHS consultant in Southampton where he practices urogynaecology as well as a general gynaecological workload.
He directs a tertiary referral centre and therefore has patients referred from many parts of the South of England by other gynaecologists. Southampton is recognised for urogynaecology both at a national and international level. He has a research programme with the research being presented at national and international meetings.
Mr Monga has a keen interest in education and training and has edited several text books both for medical students and post-graduates
Mr Monga has been a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists since 1992. He was Chairman of the meetings committee of the British society of Urogynaecology and then secretary of the British Society of Urogynaecology. He serves on the standardisation committee of the International Continence Society and has recently finished his term as Chairman of the publications committee of the International Urogynaecology Association.
Dr Susanne Johnson
Associate Specialist in Gynaecology
Dr Susanne Johnson is an Associate Specialist in Gynaecology at the Princess Anne Hospital, Southampton where she has worked since 2000. Her speciality is Gynaecological Ultrasound especially in the diagnosis of endometriosis and the prediction of malignancy in ovarian cysts.
The diagnosis of endometriosis is often delayed by around 8 years as the symptoms of pelvic pain overlap with other conditions, and because in the past, this was a difficult diagnosis to make on ultrasound. Susanne specialises in the diagnosis of endometriosis on ultrasound, especially Deep Endometriosis (affecting the bowel) and Ovarian Endometriomas.

Beccy HoDdinott isaac
Beccy is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Gynaecology, working alongside the gynaecologists since 1996. Beccy has spent thirteen years supporting patients at the Wessex Nuffield Hospital. Prior to this, Beccy was a Macmillan Gynae Oncology specialist nurse and a ward sister at The Princess Anne Hospital, Southampton. Beccy is married with two children, is often found in her greenhouse or walking her two dogs.
