Gynaechoice offers a full range of treatments for gynaecological conditions. Our team of highly skilled and qualified consultants will ensure that your experience is comfortable and, if surgery is required, will provide the best in pre and post-operative care. We are now offering pelvic ultrasound services. As long as the situation is non-urgent, anybody can be referred with a GP referral letter. The procedure costs £220, and will be carried out by Dr Susanne Johnson, one of our consultant gynaecologists. Dr Johnson is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and is certified in ‘Ultrasound Imaging in the Management of Gynaecological Conditions’.
There has been endless debate in gynaecology over the best route for hysterectomy for particular indications. Laparoscopic hysterectomy can be considered for a wide variety of indications where hysterectomy is indicated, offering patients substantial reductions in length of stay, analgaesic requirements and convalescence.
Gynaechoice offers laparoscopic total and sub-total hysterectomy for suitable patients. Surgery is undertaken by two of our consultants working together – Keith Louden and Adam Moors.
We have undertaken around 100 of these operations, and patients often only stay for one night – in fact, some of them have been able to return home on the same day as their procedure.
Common indications include fibroids up to about eighteen weeks in size, endometriosis and pelvic pain and menorrhagia after failure of conservative treatment with Mirena or endometrial ablation. Patients tell us that they feel back to normal by three weeks after their operation, and overall feedback about this operation has been extremely positive – many of our patients have shared their experiences on our website, www.gynaechoice.co.uk.
Gynaechoice is dedicated to providing the best in ongoing healthcare education to medical professionals. We have hosted and participated in a range of seminars, and have received extremely positive and constructive feedback.
Our participation in these events is as much an education to us as it is to the attendees – meaning we’re moving forward and improving our educational services all the time. If you would like us to speak at one of your future events, or if you would like some information on any upcoming events that we may be organising, please don’t hesitate to send us an email at theoffice@gynaechoice.co.uk
As busy GPs, we understand that you want your patients to be seen as quickly as possible. That’s why we have introduced a rapid online referral system which can be used for urgent, routine and Choose and Book cases. The online form can also be used for enquiries or general comments. We are constantly seeking to improve our service and therefore all feedback is welcome and encouraged. For further information, please contact Sally-Anne Laing on 02380 273142. We look forward to hearing from you.
